Canon knows this unit is defective and they do not care!!

Canon knows this unit is defective and they do not care!!
There is a simple part in this machine that Canon knows just up & snaps for no reason. They know it is defective - see all the reports on this page: http://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Office-Printers/paper-exit-guide-is-broken-in-the-middle/td-p/117957, which is Canon's own page! They don't stand by their own product even though they know it is defective. Here we are, a small nonprofit on a tight budget, with a $180 machine that is useless and since it is over a year old (purchased May 2013) they are not interested. Their website is full of reports of this part - the paper exit guide - simple snapping in two. We are not paying a mandatory service fee & then whatever the service charge is to fix this piece of junk. Buyer beware!!!We tried gluing it together but no luck. We will buy a whole new machine before I put one more penny into Canon's pockets when they will not stand by their product. So disappointing!
