My system boots in less than 15 seconds without Bitdefender and takes almost 2 minutes with it. The product decides whether software is safe or not without asking you -- even for software installed prior to installation of BD. Misidentifies things as widely know as the Steam Client...

However, it is very annoying when it flags things that are not viruses (which all Antiviruses do) such as Spotify, PowerDVD, etc.. and I have to add them as an exception. These are generally fixed in an update, however they get borked again within a few days.

Best AV software I have found for Windows. Fairly light on resources, catches most viruses, Great Heuristics. I wish they wouldn't have pop ups for license renewal and the price could be better. They seems to be starting to go the way of Norton, Too much fluff, too expensive, and not enough control over the automated modules. I think the 2012 or 2013 versions is where they peaked. since then, they have added a lot of junk and little function.

I absolutely love this software. I purchased this copy because I purchased a new laptop, and I wouldn't even consider using anything else. I have no clue why others have said it's difficult to download, because it's not. Download, register and your done. That's it. I've been using BitDefender for years now because I got tired of paying the Geek Squad to remove malware from my computers. Trust me when I say that I've tried them all, and BitDefender is the only software that I've found that never lets ANYTHING through. One reviewer said it was too expensive and gave it 3 stars due to the cost. Seriously? $56 for THE best anti-virus software on the market and you can download to three different machines for up to a year? I would have happily paid double if I had to.
The only downside I could ever see to using this software is that it is a large program, and it can be a bit of a memory hog. That's not a problem for me, but if you have an older computer with little memory, you'll probably see a difference in operating speed. If you're running on 4 gigs or more, you'll never even know that it's there. However, the same would hold true for any decent anti-software program.
It just doesn't come any better than this one folks.

Worked fine for 3 months then would not automatically update. If an antivirus doesn't update at least once a day,you're at serious risk because new threats are discovered daily and must be updated. Contacted tech support. Several days passed finally got instructions for a long and complex procedure to fix it. Did the procedure; nothing fixed. Another email, another delay; then the same set of instructions. Nothing. Useless.
