Complete Product Description
The Ear Force P11 integrates premium stereo game sound with crystal-clear communication on the PlayStation Network (PSN) and PC/Mac to create an immersive audio environment for playing popular game titles. The P11 is two headsets in one - a stereo USB headset for chat sound and an amplified stereo headset for game sound. That means you can independently control chat and game sound from a single control box whether you’re playing PS3 or PC/Mac games. Large, comfortable ear cups with a lightweight, rugged design provide the ultimate in comfort during extended game play. The P11 gives you a significant advantage because you can hear sound cues others can’t, so you’ll react faster and take them out before they take you out. If you’re serious about your PS3 gaming, then get serious about the sound. Move up to the Ear Force P11 and become a better player while experiencing your games as they were meant to be heard.
Turtle Beach Audio Advantage
The amplified stereo sound produced by the P11 will ensure that you hear your games loud and clear. We put variable bass boost at your disposal to give your audio a swift kick in the you-know-what when you need it to! You’ll be able to hear sound cues that are missed with conventional TV speakers, such as the sound of enemy footsteps or the click of a loading weapon in the distance. In short, you'll react faster and take them out before they take you out, giving you the edge that can make the real difference between winning and losing.

I wanted a good, quality TB headset to replace my old Sony Blu-Tooth. After researching, i found these to get good reviews, so i went ahead and gave in to the price. Let me say, these headphones are completely worth the money. Fact is, you cant expect this quality for anything less.
To start, i got these for both commentary on my channel, and for better sound quality on my Mac. I use the Elgato Game Capture (Something again, worth the price, reccomend it!). When i recieved the headphones, i was saddened that it required the old AV cables for the PS3 (I went HD a long time ago, and didnt bring the AV cables to college with me), so i went out and bought a 20 dollar set. Then i ran into the issue...The Game capture and headphones both used the AV slot on the PS3, and i thought i was screwed, until.. i remembered that one set of wires i never used that i got for FREE with the Elgato. its a splitter, that allows me to capture and use the headset. This instantly gave me MORE respect for Elgato :)
To start, the headphones are light. seemingly too light, but, unless you throw them around, it should be too big of a deal, but do watch were you sit. I believe part of the reason they were cheaper is that they didnt use as extravagant material to make them, which in the end isnt as important as sound quality. They feel like basic plastic, with the comfortable foam earmuffs.
The mic is fully flexible, a nice touch, and gives crisp voice quality, a plus for my commentaries. Unless you are partly deaf, you will not need to have the headphone volumn AND computer (if applicable) volumn at max, the sound is high enough to do the job. The bass is amazing, on par with Dr.Dre beats in my honest opinion. the only compaint about design of the headphones is really that the muffs dont keep the sound in, meaning that people around me can still pretty easily hear whats going on. Not too big of a deal if you live alone or dont share a room, but being in a college dorm my roomate (unless he has his own headphones on), can still hear them. Really, you can turn them down enough to still hear fine, but the outside world not hear anything, so not too big of a complaint.
The cord is a hefty 12 feet long, which i kinda feel overdoing it honestly, but it comes with a handy tool for wrapping it up, so just keep it on the wire and that problem isnt of note. One thing to make sure is that if your getting these for your PC (or in my case, Mac), that you have a USB drive open. They do not work without the USB plugged in, so on the slim models of PS3 and my Macbook Pro, where there are only 2 ports, this may become a big deal for someone.
In all, 5/5, totally got my moneys worth. I now see why Turtle Beach is soo highly rated, they deserve it! Fact is, you will not find something of this quality for this low of a price, so be reasonable with your spending limit. :)
when i first put them on, i noticed that the earcups are very comfortable. the foam inside is super soft, and the mesh covering them allows your skin to breath a bit. the earcups are really big, so it encases my entire ear. the bass boost included in this headset (one of the reasons for the usb connection) is AMAZING. it makes the sound quality really good and really compliments the 50 mm driver/speakers in each ear. now for gaming, i used them in MW3 and i walked into one of the rooms in seatown. there was a dark corner with someone sitting there. when i ran in the room i didnt see him-- but i heard him start moving up behind me to knife me. since i heard him i turned around (my controller sensetivity is 7) drop down to prone to avoid the knife (i play on tactical setup, not default) and shoot him--all because i heard his fooststeps.
you can also hear claymore placements, grenade pulls, and weapons switches, not only enemy footsteps.
also, you should really consider using dead silence (or its equivalent, like ninja or something) so you can't hear your own footsteps and it makes it easier to hear enemy footsteps.
the actual headset looks very nice, and seems to hold up pretty well. i have read other reviews and people say that the quality of these headsets are cheap. i mean what do you expect from plastic? while these arent like bulletproof or anything, these are pretty durable. the biggest problem for people is accidentally stepping on them. they will break if you do this.
the in line amp is very good too. it is very light, and so is the headset, but if the amp is jast hanging it can be a little of kilter. so use the clip (and be careful with it because it does seem a bit cheap) and you can clip it on ur belt or ur shirt.
now some of the problems i have been experiencing is a little discomfort when wearing them for a long time.but that is because i have glasses, and it doesnt fit perfectly on your ears, but it isnt to much of a problem. you just have to adjust them a bit. but if you dont have glasses or use the headset without ur glasses on, they are fine. i listened to music with them with my glasses off they fit perfectly fine.
now apart from a gaming headset, these are also good for just regular computer use. i was watching a video commentary on youtube and while whiteboy7thst was talking about his MOAB with the LMG i could hear a door open in his room and footsteps of someone else. so distinct and directional i thought it was my own door in my room that was opened.
k this is getting long, but my first impressions are the sound is good, it is comfortable, and it is holding up so far. i will update addressing any issues if necesary
