I got my EasyCap today and immediately installed it on my Dell Dimension 3000, first I disabled my antivirus as indicated on the instructions, next I plugged the easycap into an usb port, I got a prompt asking me to insert the cd with the drivers, and after putting the cd into the drive, it started the installation process, before completing the installation it will ask you to unplug the easycap so the installer can finish, then it will ask you to plug the easycap once the installation is finished, I closed the installer and went to my start menu to start the MultiViewer once the multiviewer was displayed on the screen it was asking me for an username and password, but somehow it dissappeared after a while and the image from my camera came thru, it took me about four hours to get the easy cap working and recording, it works, just have some coffee and patience, having my three year old rushing me was fun, but now I can use the vast storage capacity of my hard drive to keep an eye on my stuff while I'm gone, great product but I have to admit, there were moments when I thought it would not work at all.

Poor investestment for DVR

I purchased this DVR with great intentions and was absolutely dissapointed with the lack of instruction and customer support. It states that windows 7 is compatible do not be fooled it will not work with windows 7. I have made numerous attempts to locate and install drivers from both their website and the internet and still no luck installing the software on my computer. There is nobody to talk to if you need help with the installation or if you just have basic questions regarding the product. There is a forum on there website that is suppossed to help, I couldn't find any thing that helped. I cannot speak for other systems I am using a Dell Inspirion 17R with windows 7. This might be the perfect product for someone using an older operating system. The actual device itself seemed to be ok and I recieved my item in about 2 days however good luck trying to figure out the installation and software. If there is something I can say that would help the seller is that they must create a better website that is more user freindly and establish some sort of customer service to assist people with software and installation. And for the buyers, if you are running windows 7 probably will not install correctly. I hope this helps.

Windows XP: This product requires proprietary software, that when installed only allows the "HDE EasyCap Model 002 - 4 Channel USB 2.0 DVR Video Audio CCTV Capture" to not be recognized by any other Video/Surveillance Software.

In addition the provided software does not indicate what the password is to go into the settings. I contacted the seller, who said I do NOT need a password, However you DO need to simply click OK.. And leave the User Name as Admin.. I have yet to actually put this device to the test..

Installed Completely, But Must Redirect Driver Install Location from Windows Update to Local, also must set Video Decoder to NTSC_M after install or there will be a fuzzy snowy un-viewable horizontal area on the lower half of the screen.

With Win 7 64 bit, I was only able to get the camera to work using input 3 on the device. I used Yawcam (Yet Another WebCAM) software
[...] and was able to set up motion detection, however I'm still trying to get it to e-mail pics when motion is detected.

10/01/2016, Update,I was able to get this device to send e-mail alerts upon motion detection by using the free App called: ContaCam, this is a great App that also streams motion feed videos to the web 9Access is password protected) and also stores on the PC, Motion recordings can be pics OR short vids.(GIF of MP4)

Well, this is a device for capturing video from other sources, it does the quality that it receives, but for me it had been fine. The application is not as easy, but it is really nice. I had not been able to record 4 ch video at the same time, nor i had configured it for sending emails, but it really Works! I have Win XP, so no opinion about Win 7. I do really recommend this for video capture.

Mine arrived very quickly. I installed it on a old amd system running win XP. I have 2 different cameras and one does better than the other (but the camera that is darker is 640x480 and therefore does not fall in the specs listed as supported: but i do get an image). On initial install it did not work, but the default for camera type needed to be changed. My cameras were ntsc. Install defaulted to a PAL selection for the camera. The product appears to support viewing only one camera at a time even if all four are displayed. There is an auto feature that will cycle thru each camera giving a snapshot of each in about 3 second intervals. Overall this likely a good product for some people. Benefits that I see are... Some of the more energy saving systems are "bookshelf" systems where you cannot add cards into the computer. Even if you have a low power desktop that can be upgraded with a card, the cards normally cost at least 6x more [price at time of purchase was under $8]. The software may not be stellar but I think that this is a great product for a DIY where you want to control the costs of the initial setup of a security system or other project until you determine what capabilities you may want/need in the future.

This may be good for someone who wants to watch four cameras in realtime without the record feature or use manual record option.
