PROS
*Good features. More than I use. I get the ones I mentioned above.
*Have been using it since Christmas and the battery seems fine.
*Set up is fast. Plug in the USB, Turn on the Pad and you're ready to go. The USB is small, so I leave it in all the time.
*Well made.
*On/Off Switch
*Has some other good gestures to...page up/down, volume, lock screen....
*Price is very affordable, and great for what you get.
*Left/Right clicks on the lower part of the pad.
CONS
*Scrolling is natural. You move the page. So to go up, you drag down and vice versa. I actually got used to the other way on a Mac, so I had to adjust from what I was used to. Had to set the pref on my Mac for the same. It wasn't that big a deal. But, it makes the center scroll button on my laptop less natural because to scroll down, you pull down.
*No left/right page scrolling.
*The pad is a bit rough and the scrolling isn't as smooth as a Mac. But, it's not awful.
*The right/left clicks on the pad have no tactile feel, so at times I'll right click when I want left click and vice versa.
*No software to set preferences.
*Would have been nice to have a feature that's on my laptop's touchpad (It's a Lenovo) where you start a 1 finger scroll on the edge of the pad then make circles (clockwise for down, counterclockwise for up) to scroll. They have this for the horizontal scrolling too. This is an awesome feature on laptop touchpad and works very well. With the real estate on this Touchpad, they could have put this on the edge as well. I find the size is great and rarely go the edge of the Touchpad. Or ChiraMotion scrolliing where you 1 finger scroll on the edge and go from corner to corner (clockwise for down, counterclockwise for up) to continue scrolling.
OVERALL:
I think this is a great solution for what I wanted. Would have 5 stars if it worked just a little bit better and if it let me set preferences. I really like the features of the touchpad on my laptop and wished that many of them were on this TouchPad (since they are both Lenovo). The price is great of what you get.
I would still highly recommend it. I really like Lenovo products which is why I got this instead of the Logitech touchpad.
On the other end, it's really designed for Win8 people who don't have touch screens. The swipe gestures controls can't be changed or turned off via driver software so I kept accidentally switching apps when I didn't want to. With Win8.1, swiping isn't necessary because the OS is mouse-and-pointer friendly. I eventually gave up and for the first time, experienced Amazon's return policy
