A very strong first DSLR but not absolutely perfect.
Title:~A very strong first DSLR but not absolutely perfect.Body:~I received this camera three days ago and I've been playing with the camera non-stop. While I'm not a novice to either SLR photography or Nikon cameras, I found the camera to be a great balance of performance of ease of use. With this model, my previous knowledge of photography really was helpful to achieve the image I want. The manual control features are great and the scene settings are very helpful, but I find the auto mode of the camera to be completely useless. I've tried it time and time again only to find that the shot is either incorrectly exposed or too blurry. To guarantee the perfect shot I often find myself using the pet scene mode most often w/ the flash disabled. Most importantly, the images I'm taking are significantly improved over my previous digital camera (mainly my iPhone).
