This spotlight is awesome! I was replacing an older similar but different brand light that had finally died after 6 years of use. I am hoping this one lasts as long because it makes the old light look like a candle and feel like I was carrying around a small horse! The Cyclops is very light and is made of a material that feels very good in your hand. It is weighted so well I never get tired holding the light even while walking for hours. The grip is made perfectly to fit adult hands, and is perfect in mine which is a Women's L or Men's M glove size. My husband and friends who've used it all have loved the feel in their hand. The contour is so nice it almost feels like a perfect pistol grip in your hand and the material is very non-slip but not sticky at all. The light always feels snug in my hand no matter how, where, when, I am waving or holding it and seems to not vary with the wild swings of desert temperatures. Amazing!
It charges quickly and I have found it to carry the charge as long as advertised. I have had the light almost two months and have used it almost every night for 1 to 1 1/2 hours straight and usually multiple times. I do charge it between uses if necessary.
This light is VERY bright and allows me to see well out over 50+ feet easily (further actually but obviously it depends on the detail you need for what you are doing or looking for). For what I use it for, I am always in spot mode (brightest setting) and I can see kangaroo rats and snakes at about 75 feet easily. I never will worry about stepping on a poisonous snake at night with this light on my person. If just walking, the flood setting is totally adequate for walking on moonless nights and feeling safe. The light weight and size of the light makes it anything but cumbersome. I actually tuck the light into my pants pocket like a holster when I don't need it and it fits perfectly, it's only 3 1/4" diameter! The trigger pull is terrific for ease of on/off operation and if you'd rather just leave it on there is a handy lock switch. I personally like the trigger, it saves energy because it's only on when I need it for my intended use. But having the lock is ideal because there are times you may want to set it down and still have the light on, or there may be people whose trigger finger tires after a while, then again, there are people who will purchase this light to use as a regular flashlight so the lock is handy!
The red lens easily fits over the light and has a small notch and slide system to keep it snug enough it doesn't fall off every time you move the light. That's nice too.
This is an outstanding light at an amazing price. I have used so many "bright" lights that never really met my expectations nor the manufacturers claims. The Cyclops Sirius 500 is the best hand held light I have ever used!

A Winner for Lightpainting!
I use this light for lightpainting landscapes and it does a great job. I have used it for 3 consecutive 2-3 hour shoots without a recharge. Works well for painting up to 100-200 yards. Small, compact, powerful, and durable. Definitely a winner.
