When you want to give carpets a truly thorough clean, look to the BISSELL DeepClean Premier to provide professional-style results.

Heatwave Technology helps maintain constant water temperature throughout the cleaning process. The 2-in-1 tank is 25% larger* so there’s less refilling. Dual Rotating PowerBrushes lift embedded dirt to get carpets seriously clean and touchably soft. Because it’s engineered to clean better than all other leading brands,** you can feel confident that each room in your home is ready for all of life’s messes.

Why should I invest in a deep cleaner?

Deep cleaning is a process that loosens and removes tough pet stains and odors and even ground-in dirt that could harm carpet fibers. It helps to protect flooring and keep it looking its best for years to come. Though vacuuming is great for picking up everyday dirt toward the surface of fibers, only deep cleaning washes fibers, leaving carpets touchably clean.

Are upright or portable deep cleaners better?

When it comes to upright deep cleaners versus portable deep cleaners, it’s not about which is better, it’s about which is best suited for the job at hand. Uprights are best suited for large areas and whole rooms, while portable spot cleaners specialize in stairs, upholstery, auto interiors, and more.

very effective, even for stains

very effective, even for stains
When considering purchasing a carpet cleaner such as this one, there are several issues that need to be addressed. One is the value of owning your own cleaner as opposed to renting one. Another is about the value of having one on hand permanently in terms of storage and footprint. Yet another is about usability. How hard is it to use? The primary one is, "does it work well?" It is this last question that I'll address first because it is integral to assessing the value. The answer is, at least in my case, "yes".To test this, I tried it out on two relatively tough jobs. The first was cleaning a carpet in a garage and addressing black marks and stains in two high traffic or stain-attractive areas. There were black marks spread around the doorway where people entered as well as some stains in front of a deep freezer that were made either by leakage of food products or repeated times when people stood in one area. These were all dark and entrenched. I followed the directions in the manual and pretreated them, then I used this deep cleaner to clean the entire carpet. The stains were completely removed and the carpet was visibly cleaner all over. This did as good a job as could be expected on the carpet. I posted a "user image" of the before and after showing the dark marks that disappeared. The second big test was on a sofa which had not been cleaned for decades. The upholstery had water stains (where water or drinks had been spilled and altered the underlying dust patterns) as well as discoloration. This was cleaned very well, too.In terms of usability, cleaning a floor with this deep cleaner was about as easy as it gets. You essentially press a liquid release on the forward stroke and the cleaner sucks up the wet dirty water on the back stroke. The cleaner is big, but not exceptionally heavy. I'm not sure that someone with arthritis that is painful could use it, but most able-bodied adults should be able to manage without issue. Because the head of the machine is large, however, you cannot get into nooks and crannies. It really is best to remove all of the furniture that you can.Usability for upholstery cleaning is a little less slick. The brush attachment does not have a rotating head and its release of liquid is a little strong. You have to use elbow grease to some extent and you'll notice "streaking" as the water is not applied evenly. I recommend cleaning in multiple directions (up and down and side to side) to make sure that there is no streaking after the fluid dries. As a secondary capability, it's hard to complain about the "squirting" that the brush does, but it is worth keeping in mind depending on whether or not one of your primary concerns is using this to clean furniture. The final aspect of usability is the smell of the fluid. It's not intensely strong, but it can linger if you're doing a wide area. If you're sensitive to such smells, you may want to consider whether or not you'd like to buy a cleaner that doesn't come with a recommended fluid type (the Bissel brand) and find something which will accommodate more mild cleaning fluids without manufacturer's warnings. There is a limited 3-year warranty, and I don't know if it would be seen as a violation or user fault if you failed to use Bissel's fluids, but it is a possibility. On the not so great side, there was a misalignment of one of the parts which made it impossible to properly attach. The brush holder screw would not line up if I inserted it into the slots that it was designed for. I could either align it properly or screw it in, but not both. So, my brush holder is held rather improperly by a single screw and I don't think it'll hang in there in the long run as the screw may eventually be stripped. In fact, I'm pretty sure the unit I was given was returned for that very reason since I noticed some scarring in the plastic where someone else appeared to align it as I did and the screw dug into the plastic at the same point as where I tried to screw it in. This problem may be fixed in newer versions, but it's worth mentioning just in case.Other than that, I truly wish that this were not a one-trick pony and was able to function as a regular vacuum cleaner as well. Since it is a bit large, the ability to simply vacuum with it and not store two machines would be nice. Storage will be a bit of an issue since the head is pretty enormous. Given that it has suction and rotating heads, I'm not sure why it couldn't manage this, but it does not. Perhaps it is a matter of doing one job well rather than multiple jobs poorly. I didn't knock a star off of it for that reason (I did that because of the misaligned holder), but it is a consideration, especially if you're in a place with limited storage space. Finally, in terms of value, the cost of this is not particularly high if you compare it to having to rent a carpet cleaner multiple times. If you move from apartment to apartment, and part of what you have to worry about at the end of each contract is cleaning the carpet so that you can get your deposit back, this may be the machine for you as it would save you money in the long run. Similarly, if your home has a lot of carpets and you have to clean often for allergies, it's also going to be a good investment. The main long-term value concern isn't the price of the machine so much as the cost of buying more Bissel fluid. The bottle you get with the cleaner is enough for only two applications (you have to fill the cup twice each time). You could use other cleaning fluids, of course, but it's not recommended. This is an excellent deep cleaner and I have to imagine that only the most brutal of stains wouldn't be cleaned by it given my experiences. You can see by the water that collects just how much dirt is removed. While not perfect, I think it represents good value for people who need to frequently clean their carpets.

I owned a Bissel ProHeat 2X for over 12 years and I liked its design though its performance began to falter over the years as minor parts began to break. I love my new DeepClean Premier. The design is similar to the ProHeat and the performance so far in both the carpet mode and hose attachment mode have been exceptional. It cleans well and sucks up most of the water from the carpet so drying time is much quicker than with my old ProHeat. The larger size of the DeepClean water tank is much appreciated too. My only complaint is that, unlike the ProHeat, there is no separate "rinse" capability. Soap is added directly to the water tank so if you want to rinse with clean water, you have to empty the tank and refill it with clear water.

This is an awesome machine. Seriously for myself, I could not find anything I disliked about it. We just moved into our home and the carpet was old, in ok condition but very very dirty. It was quite mated down. There was a lot of sand and pet fur ground into the carpet along with stains. It was very dingy because of the Asphalt dust through out the whole carpet. Didn't feel very good under our bare feet either. Christmas was right around the corner so did a lot of research on Steam Cleaners. I found very good ratings on the Full Sized Bissell DeepClean Premier. So decided to get it.

I vacuumed very well with a Shark Professional Vacuum before starting, and treated all the stains I could find including pet stains I found with a special light with Natural Rapport Pet Stain and Odor Remover and also Genesis 950 . This machine was easy to put together and operate. It truly deep cleans and did a fabulous job. We used Procyon Extreme Carpet Cleaner for our cleaning solution which is Soap Free and Odor Free.

I love that this Bissell has a heater to keep the hot water continuously warm as I went very slow over the carpet. I also like that it has only one container and the clean water bladder is inside the container, so as the dirty water gets sucked up it goes around the bladder so you can easily empty that dirty water and again fill with fresh water and or some solution back into the empty bladder. Also makes it very easy to clean when finished. Never had any problems with leaks. I have used it 3 times now, one was a rinse. This Bissell has great suction also. I am 63 and was grateful that the Bissell though it was Full Size was easy to move around.

The carpet almost looks like new and all the stains are gone, the carpet is not flat anymore and it feels great under our feet and smells fresh. Can you believe that? We were told that the previous owner used a Rug Doctor before we bought the place. But why was there still so much sand, fur and stains still left in the carpet? Oh I also bought a Grandi Groom Carpet Rake which also helps to dig down into the fibers to loosen things up and at the end of steam cleaning to help lift up the fibers. Some time later, a local carpet cleaner guy came over and said: The carpet looks like a professional job. Well, the complement goes to the machine. It did a great Job.

This Bissell is very attractive and easy to use. Loved how it handles and clean up was a breeze. That whole top part and container can be rinsed off in the sink. At the very last I tipped the machine over so I could clean the bottom of the machine and that was it. If I could give it more stars I would. Thank you for reading this review. Hope it helped.

I was pretty excited about this cleaner, based on the positive reviews. I've owned other models of Bissell steam cleaners and have been satisfied with their performance. My household includes 3 children, 4 very active Belgian Shepherds, and a couple of cats. A veritable zoo....and a challenge for someone who is a clean carpet fanatic.

I was disappointed upon first using the cleaner - prior models had an indicator that let you see when you had run out of the carpet cleaning solution or clean water if cleaning with just water. Prior models also allowed you to customize the amount of solution that was added to your water, based on the job you needed to do. When the dial stopped spinning, the solution tank was empty.

This model gives no indication when you have run out of solution, you just have to figure it out. NOT an improvement.

But by far my biggest complaint is related to the amount of water left in the carpet. Prior models left the carpet damp, but this one leaves it so WET it takes a couple of days to dry, even after repeated attempts to remove the excess moisture. It is also creates a situation that means the user will need to clean again sooner - the moisture left in the carpet includes carpet cleaning solution (essentially soap) which then attracts dirt. The end result? My carpets look great, but remain too wet.....and then require cleaning again far to soon because the residual soap in the carpet attracted more dirt.

It worked well at first and then the trigger stopped working. It's a shame that it stopped working because the machine did an excellent job at cleaning my carpet. I tried troubleshooting the problem with the solutions in the manual, but nothing worked.

I was crazy about the Bissell Proheat 2X machine's ability to clean my rugs. I was distressed by the difficulty I had getting the machine to work again every few months. My fingers are crossed that this machine will continue to provide me with outstanding rug cleaning. It is easier to clean up after using. The new water container system is fine. It is a heavy machine but manageable. Ask me to rate this product six months from now. Hopefully I will be confident enough to give it a rating of 5. I don't want to take another shiny new-looking Bissell steam rug cleaner to the landfill!
