The package is heavy which is why it's shipped freight, so I had to open the box on the street and remove the pieces a few at a time, and evey long piece was bent at both ends. The shorter pieces were protected by the long ones so they were mostlyok, but several had scrapes/ damaged paint. To return this i have to somehow reassemble everything into what's left of the cardboard box, that will not be fun.
Gladiator makes great stuff, but they should anticipate this rough handling by the shippers and do more to protect their products!
I took 2 stars off due to the poor packaging that was made worse by a careless freight company. Not entirely Gladiator's fault, but they could do better.

I took 2 stars off due to the poor packaging that was made worse by a careless freight company. Not entirely Gladiator's fault, but they could do better.
I ran an inventory and found everything there. (The parts have an identifying paper label affixed to each.) There was slight bending of some corner flaps, nothing major that a linesman's pliers couldn't quickly fix. One of the sides had a slight impact bend to it like someone dropped one end of the carton. (It didn't affect assembly in the least and now I cannot find the bend.) There was quite a bit of packing cardboard inside which likely explains why there was so little damage to the sheet metal and not one scratch anywhere.
I really cannot tell you how good the instruction book was outside of the diagrams, which explained everything. The diagrams were so good that I could have used the French language pages. They told me which pieces would attach where and which fasteners to use. (Years of Ikea training paid off.) Setting the first (top) back panel was the only bit of hesitation, but there is only one way to attach them.
It has been mentioned that the sheet metal is flimsy: it is. However, once you start assembly, each new panel added boosted the rigidity. The final product was stiff enough for something that will sit against the wall, hold a bunch of junk and get moved around every so often. A heavier gauge sheet metal increases costs in many ways but it would approach the Fort Knox effect some may want.
Modifications
Though not indicated, I did make sure that the assembled four panels of top, bottom and sides were square before I tightened all the machine screws and nuts. They were only 1/16 inch off across the 86+ inches (nice!) so I moved on. I again checked squareness after adding half of the back panels and that was still holding. The back panel's screw holes lined up almost perfectly to the side panels.
One of the reviewers mentioned the use of lock nuts and better machine screws. That made sense once I saw the tapped holes in the sheet metal; they were convenient but couldn't take stress too often. (This is not a problem if the cabinet won't get moved much.) I bought about sixty #10-24 by 3/8 inches round-head machine screws and matching lock nuts to replace the #10-24 by 1/4 inch screws. I did have to drill out the center holes of the back panels as some tough paint prevented insertion. Although the diagram showed using only two screws in the center of the back panels, I used three. A gap was created in the center of most panels and the third screw cleared it up.
It took about three hours to assemble with a lot of time spent on modifications to the back panels. I used a ratchet and a cordless drill to speed things along but was still bogged down with the back panels. For the modified assembly, I needed a small crescent wrench to tighten the top nuts of the top panel too narrow for any socket. The only time that I need a second person to help was to hold a screwdriver on the center screw of the bottom panel while I tightened the nut from the inside. Hanging the doors was easy, though I did lift them, before final tightening, to better fit in the frame.
Placed in a garage with a sloped deck, be sure to level the cabinet so the doors are neutral and won't swing left or right or closed after opening them. I waited until the cabinet was loaded before I leveled it.
The screw-on legs are nice with nylon/plastic/poly-something padding; that should protect most floors.
Two Problems
One of the diagrams incorrectly labels the bottom panel as P2, but the leg insets are a dead giveaway that it's P3.
They have you put shelf P5 as the middle shelf and shelves P5M (M for magnet) placed above and below P5. Unfortunately, shelves P5M have the slots for the locking arm and P5 has nothing. To correct at this point, I need to empty two shelves, swap a P5 for a P5M. That's not terribly bad unless you're doing this solo which requires removing both doors first. Since I don't need to lock the cabinet, I may forget about it. Still irks me that I didn't see that or check it out when I placed the shelves or attached the doors.
I would advise the manufacturer to use three binding straps around the carton instead of the current single strap. While the cardboard carton was stout, it will suffer from rough handling during shipping.
The cabinet has a nice industrial look and really de-cluttered my garage; a lot of the small loose stuff is now hidden away behind doors. If the need arises, I will buy the same one again.
I gave it four stars. I like the sturdiness, look and easy assembly even with the modifications. The shipping carton needed more binding straps, the assembly instructions had two misleading, though not fatal, directions and it needed modification for a cabinet that will likely be moved around several times.
Aside from all this the thing is hugemongous and you can put lots of stuff in it. I have only had mine for a week and as a mechanic in a garage the size is a great help with storing tools that come with big bulky boxes.
My biggest problem is it is not secure.
I don't want to return the whole cabinet, its huge, I just want the seller to send replacement doors.

I don't want to return the whole cabinet, its huge, I just want the seller to send replacement doors.
Assembly was fine until it was time to install the back panels when the fun, and cursing, started. The screws would not fit into the threaded holes on three of the back panels. If you push hard to seat the screw you can see how thin the panels are because they flex like an advanced yoga instructor. Had to use some other holes with nuts I had already. So a simple task became frustrating. One more problem was that one of the doors needed some metalwork with pliers to get it to fit without scraping the frame. The other door was fine.
The cabinet, when built, is not too bad but the doors are not very rigid..The cabinet is a good size and I have 2 plastic storage tubs on each shelf so it is pretty useful. Once you buy into the gladiator system you are somewhat stuck with the variable quality just to get the complete look.
