Easy to use with powerful programming
UNO Synth comes with 100 grab-and-go presets (80 fully re-writable), making it ready to play right out of the box. Each preset also includes an associated arpeggio and sequence.
This makes it easy for everyone to find the perfect sound, with creative starting points to make working with the UNO Synth faster, more productive and more enjoyable.

The UNO Synth’s 27-note on-board keyboard offers over two octaves of sound control, either as a chromatic keyboard or as a predefined scale keyboard.
Five performance modulations are also available (Dive, Scoop, Vibrato, Wah and Tremolo) to further enhance real-time playability. These provide instant dynamic expression to bring your analog synth performances to life.
Endless patterns and grooves
UNO Synth's keyboard also doubles as a step-edit control for a built-in sequencer. Sequences can be programmed in real-time or in steps and include up to 20 parameters per step, making the UNO Synth the most powerful in its class.
The multimode built-in arpeggiator with 10 different arpeggio modes and a 4-octave range makes UNO Synth a joy to play for keyboardists and non-keyboardists alike.

Once you’ve created your sounds and patches, the UNO Editor makes it easy to save these directly to the unit for use on-stage or on the go. You can even load up presets you’re created on the unit to put the finishing touches on them via the UNO Editor, and then save them back to the unit for live use.
Further, UNO Synth Editor comes packed with controls over live effects. Set the speed of DIVE and SCOOP pitch effects as well as the depth of the VIBR., WAH and TREM buttons for momentary pitch, filter and amplitude modulation from the UNO Synth’s front panel. These buttons let you add instant animation to your synth performance, and they are always active whether you are playing the synth live or using the sequencer or arpeggiator.

A blast to use, easy to learn for me, and very smooth synth sounds from the 80's
the LFO is very good and the whole system has little background noise. My only complaint is that its powered by USB or batteries. No dedicated power only connector. I am not a fan of mini USB connectors. they tend to fail after some use. if it does I will modify it. Also as others have stated the software is fantastic, but your license can't be transferred I think this hurts the resale market, because the new owner will haver to register and PAY for the software... not a good deal...
Unfortunately …
It doesn’t work for long by battery. That was a disappointment because I’d purchased it to have an option for designing patches when I’m away from the studio. I could carry around several spare batteries, but …
About a week in I decided to update the firmware. I’m not sure if the firmware update was the problem or if it was trying to use MIDI … but the device almost consistently gets an immediate ERR message a few seconds after turning it on, and if I make it past calibration it gets the error message after I play a few notes from another MIDI device.
I haven’t had time to patiently troubleshoot it, so maybe it’s not a serious problem.
I gave it 4 stars because the sound is (was) great, and with optimism that I’m only experiencing a temporary issue.
Things I don't like: The body of my unit was curved. It does look like it comes like that from the factory as there is no damage signs at all. The body of the unit shakes when you press buttons on the right lower corner and I had to put two layers of double sided scotch tape to level the surface. Also sometimes my synth scroll presets on it's own and if I haven't saved preset I work on - it's gone... I feel like the unit I got was just a return item and I got it next as it was 149.99. I wonder if I'm right...
Basically this is a good product that fails miserably in the power department. They spent a lot of time packing in features but failed to address basic infrastructure needs. This unit should have a wall wart, not a USB power feed. If that meant increasing the price by $20, so what.
Don't buy it, you'll just return it. Or buy a lot AA batteries.
Top reviews from other countries
Much cheaper and smaller than Korg/Moog, but I think it has some limitations in sound too.
But it is good for newbie like me.
I glued small rubber pads to the bottom, because it doesn't have them (to avoid annoying sound when you hit keys hard and plastic hits a table).
IMHO, with USB connection and their UNO Synth Editor Software it's much flexible, than without (all controls on the screen, not matrix-knobs interface). They're some tricks in the setting to select USB port, but it works well after you select it.
I have heard Default preset no 86 on some youtube reviews - for me it was enough to buy it, like that sound so much.
The lightweight, plastic case might not be to everyone's taste but if portability is a factor then it can be seen as a plus point. The synth architecture is similar to an old fashioned entry level mono synth such as the Moog Rogue. The sound is good with non-ladder filter delivering a lot of low end frequencies. It sometimes feels weird to hear such beefy tones from a toylike box!
PROS - very portable, very affordable, patch memory and a useable keyboard.
CONS - susceptible to noise, requires software editor for deep patching, possibly fragile. The factory presets are not great but you can download plenty more via the editor.
It took some experimentation with audio and USB cables to eliminate the digital noise from the output. The software provided is Windows or Mac only though the editor runs happily under Wine on Linux.
Overall, I'm very pleased with UNO.
