The unit as easy to open and close, and has a firm click when locking in place. The color scheme is different for each size and easy to spot, with purple being for this 16GB stick (on some computer screens it looks like blue, but it's purple). It has an indicator arrow on the slider indicating the direction to slide to open. The slider has "USB 3.0 " exposed when in the closed position, and "16G" exposed when in the open position. It has "Lexar" prominently imprinted, in case you want to buy more or contact the manufacturer. I have some other brands that are not identified,nor color coded, and some that I have to squint to find the storage size, which I no longer purchase. The stick is small enough to take up a minimum of space, yet large enough to easily handle and store.
The read speed of up to 130MB/s is really good, as many other brands are under 100MB/s. The write speed is only 25MB/s, as is their 32GB stick, so nothing to brag about. But if you need more write speed, their 64GB sticks and up are 60MB/s write speed (while upping the read to 150MB/s). You can look at all of the Lexar S75 series sticks here

I actually bought this stick to store my Windows backup install, because it was less expensive than most other 8gb sticks, which also suffice. I downloaded Windows from the Microsoft site, and it went very smoothly. It's also backwards compatible with USB 2.0, so you can download from a USB 2.0 machine and reinstall on a USB 3.0 machine. This is handy, because if you trash your Win10 system on a newer machine, Microsoft lets you download a new Win10 OS from a Win7 machine, and reinstall it on the Win10 machine.
It also comes with a three year warranty. I am really happy with this product.
